DEFENDING CAPITALISM: CONTRASTING CHRISTIANITY & OBJECTIVISM Michael Novak (Christian): "Capitalism is the mind-centered system. It makes possible invention and discovery." Andrew Bernstein (Objectivist): "Objectivism is the most profoundly spiritual philosophy in the history of mankind." Most Christians I know are opposed to capitalism, profit, and 'materialism'. But does this necessarily follow from Christian principles? Michael Novak, from the American Enterprise Institute, one of the world's most eminent defenders of capitalism and a devout Catholic doesn't think so. He joins Andrew Bernstein from the Ayn Rand Institute as we contrast the way Objectivism and Christianity defend Capitalism.
